Former Senior Special Adviser to the President on National Assembly Matters(Senate) and facilitator of the Federal College of Education, Ididep, Sen. Ita Enang on Sunday, 1st September, 2024 played host to members of the Governing Council and conducted a comprehensive site tour of the institution.
The event brought together esteemed members of the Governing Council, college administrators, as well as community stakeholders to discuss strategic plans for enhancing the college’s infrastructure, academic programs, and overall quality of education.
During the site tour, Senator Enang and the Governing Council members inspected various facilities, including: Academic blocks, Libraries, Laboratories, Student hostels and Sports facilities.
The team also engaged with community leaders, youths, as well as other stakeholders to understand their needs and concerns.
In his address, Senator Enang emphasized the importance of quality education in nation-building. “Education is the backbone of any society, and it’s our collective responsibility to ensure that our institutions provide the best possible opportunities for our youth.”
He commended the Governing Council for their tireless efforts in steering the college towards excellence and assured them of his continued support.
Earlier in his remarks, the Chairman of the Governing Council, Hon. Cletus Obun, expressed gratitude to Senator Enang for his unwavering commitment to the college’s growth. “Your facilitation has been instrumental in our progress, and we look forward to continued collaboration.”
The Provost of the Federal College of Education, Ididep, Dr. Edem Ntuk, praised Senator Enang’s dedication to education. “His passion for education is evident in his efforts to ensure our institution receives the necessary resources and support.”
Key resolutions agreed during the meeting between the Governing Council and Senator Ita Enang include: Building on infrastructual development, curriculum review, staff capacity building, as well as student welfare enhancement.
The successful hosting of the Governing Council members and site tour demonstrates Senator Ita Enang’s unwavering commitment to education and development in Akwa Ibom State. His efforts will undoubtedly have a lasting impact on the Federal College of Education, Ididep-Ibiono, and the region as a whole.
